Why Did I Get Married Too Movie Review by The Average Joe

Alright, I just got back from seeing the new Tyler Perry movie. So here is the Why Did I Get Married Too movie review. There are some highs and some lows, but it still constitutes a movie worth seeing because of the highs. Tyler Perry is definitely something to look for if a person has never seen any of his movies, usually they are either spot on or quite awful. For once this movie isn't exactly as easy as the other, being obviously great or bad.

Tyler Perry makes all of works very easy to follow. He never creates a storyline that his audience finds foreign or unimportant. "Why did I get married?" is the literal interpretation of the movie. This is the continuation of the four couples from the end of the first movie. While all the other couples have new issues to deal with, Angela and Marcus contend with the same issue. Diane could be having an affair, Troy has no job and is being mean to Shelia, and Patricia and Gavin may not make it as a couple. We get an in depth look into the lives of the characters along with enough comic relief to keep the audience entertained

The characters of the movie are definitely characters to remember because they are so relatable. Perry has a talent for displaying the flaws of people in such a way that it does not seem forced. We see Angela as the "ghetto" one ready to fight anyone especially her husband. Patricia is the one that bottles everything up and is desperate to fix everyone else but herself. And lastly Terry has all the advice on women while all the while watching everything little thing that his wife is doing differently.

With all the good parts of the movie the ending was still surprising. The prediction that one couple would not make it was alarming news but the reason is even more shocking. Perry usually wraps up the loose endings in his plays and movies. But in this movie it seems as if nothing really got resolved because Angela and Marcus never solved their problem while Patricia and Gavin just simply ended. Without giving away the ending I will say that it was rushed. He tries to put a yellow bow around it all but the movie really needed more time and that's a problem because the movie happened to be two hours and fifteen minutes. The rushing in the movie was a huge flaw but also the there were scenes out of focus and problems with the sound. Whether that was something the theater had wrong, the sound, or it being the movie itself, the focusing could have been corrected during production. I have no clue which it is. Needless to say, it was still an issue.

By the end of the day, I would say the movie is definitely worth seeing no matter how you may feel about the ending. There was nothing bad about the ending just rushed. Why Did I Get Married Too movie review lets the movie have 4 out of 5 stars.

Need To Spice Up Your DVD Collection

I just wanted to let people know what is now being released to DVD today. If you want to add some variety to your DVD collection or just want to know what's new, this is for you. There are numerous DVDs mentioned below from blockbusters to TV shows. Look over it and see what you like.

There is finally a season 2 to American Dad being released. Why not get it today? It's from the creator Seth MacFarlane, the one that brought you Family Guy and The Cleveland Show. These are shown on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and Fox. If it lasted long enough to make a season 2 this is definitely one to spice up the DVD collection. The eighth season of Family Guy is also coming out today. If you like cartoons that have riddled with social commentary, these are definitely good shows for you. Also both of the shows are coming out unrated, so it is filled with hours of comedy that could not be aired on television. Gotta check it out.

The first season of Hawthorne is being released. Jada Pinkett Smith with her hard exterior and soft maternal interior made it through her first season. Possibly this RN is in store for many seasons to come.

There are some movies coming to DVD this week such as Youth in Revolt and Book of Eli, both of them happen to be rated R. In Youth in Revolt, there's an average guy chasing after a girl with an alter ego that has a bad streak. And then in Book in Eli starring Denzel Washington, he is a guy claiming to be on a mission from God in this "apocalyptic" universe.

Okay here's what's out this week in DVDs. You can get them all from Amazon just by clicking below. If these seem to be something that is worth adding to your collection, make sure you get them while supplies last.

A Family Movie To Remember

Okay so I just got back from seeing The Karate Kid, and I must say this was definitely one of the shocker's for me this summer. This movie was actually really good. I must admit that Jaden Smith is turning out to be a really good actor. This movie is very reminiscent of the original Karate Kid, but with a modern twist on it. This movie has a good plot, memorable characters, and an inspiring ending. This does contain some spoilers.

The plot starts with Jaden Smith's character, Troy, and Taraji P. Henson, his mother, moving to China because of a career opportunity. Troy is desperately trying to adapt to a new culture and language, but not exactly doing well at it. Even as he tries to make friends and gradually develops a crush, he is attacked by an admirer of his crush that also knows how to fight. After his public humiliation Troy is trained by Jackie Chan, playing the Mr. Miyagi character. Although if you have seen the original you can probably guess the outline of the plot, still there are a lot of surprises plus you'll learn a few Chinese phrases.

The characters in the movie are very reminiscent of the original movie. Troy is a likeable average kid who is placed in this situation and you can't help but side with him. He is trying his hardest to fit in, only he constantly being bullied to the point he's actually scared to go to school. Taraji P. Henson does an excellent job as his mother, constantly wanting him to "pick up his jacket" and giving him lots of love and support. And Jackie Chan does more than his usual comedy routine in this movie, he actually exposes himself as an actor giving a very vulnerable crying scene. The characters were awesome in this movie.

I won't give away the last move that Troy does in the end once he has entered the tournament, but just know it is great. This movie really showcases the bond between mother and child and the bond between master and student. The only thing that made me a little sad about the ending was the masters didn't fight, but I guess that was simply one of the changes they were going for.

This is one of those movies that you definitely need to go see. This movie is one for the whole family to see, it has a love story for girls and kung fu for boys. The movie would be worth seeing in general but especially because of the tournament at the end, those kids are tough. This movie exposes Chinese culture from a different perspective so if gives the audience a chance to really appreciate. This movie is a five out of five, that's it for The Karate Kid movie review.
